These create a good light in our kitchen. We have 15 of them and give a great light for less than 40w. They look good and fit the GU10 fitting well. As another review has found out the life may not be 30,000 hours - I purchased these in October 2009 so 3 years on 3 of the 15 dimmed a lot probably to about 1/3 output and needed to be replaced, another 2 ar at about 2/3 so I suspect some of the surface leds have gone, not just got dimmer. I doubt these have been on more than 5 hours a day and perhaps just 1 hour tops in the summer, but on the basis of 5 hours a day over 3 years that is 3000 hours use a lot less than 30,000. However I notice that most energy saving bulbs do not last as long as they say but if the life is just 3000 to 5000 hours the price cost nullifies a lot of the energy saving cost. One can only hope this life problem is improved.

Quite impressed by this LED lamp. Lovely colour (a genuine warm white) and a good spread of light in comparison to a standard 28W GU10 halogen. My only criticism would be that the lamp generates a noticeable flicker when moving things in the light generated by these LED lamps. A bit like the flickering of red LED tail lights on some modern cars.

Exactly as described - has a much warmer light than the standard halogen. Works well as a replacement for 35W lamp. Good price too.

Had 10 of these in the kitchen. Looked great and good build quality compared to others I hae brought. Amazingly 3 of them failed within a week of each other after running for 2 years at about 5 hrs a day. They don\'t go out, just cut to about 1/4 of the light output and occasionally flicker up to full power. Not what I would expect for £15 each. Good concept - but poor quality as they are advertised for 50,000 hours and only last for 3-4000 hours.

We have refurbished our house which was lit by standard light bulbs and so replaced nearly every bulb with these LED lights. It\'s cut our electric light bill by about 60% and I no longer have that continous requirement to replace blown bulbs. It\'s not a cheap product (compared to halogen gu10\'s which we used as a stop gap whislt waiting for new bulbs) and in certain places they are not bright enough, and so I\'ve used 5w LED\'s there, but in general the house is well lit, cheaper to run, no hotspots from halogen and no boxes of spare bulbs to replace blown ones. We\'ve had a few duff ones and \"dim\" ones, but BLT have been top notch and replaced them without a quibble. This is the only sensible way forward, forget energy saving bulbs with start up times, forget wasteful halogen, these work instantly and cheaply and effectively last for ever.

We now have 5 of these around this house. They are good replacements for standard 35w GU10 bulbs or 50w in particular lighting arrangements. The beam is quite narrow so although it is bright, this light is focused on smaller area than the halogen light of equivalent power. Idea for work lights - we use them in bedside reading lights where the bright, crisp narrow beam is ideal, particularly as they don\'t get hot.

An excellent bomb proof lamp of the very highest quality. Started buying them from BLT in 2008 (not sure you can get them anywhere else), and have since recommended and bought them on behalf of my mother inlaw and myself, taking out the awful two pin fittings 50w on 24v and upgrading to low power 2.3w (they are actually 2.3w, not 3w) 240v GU10. Now have them all round our house. They give a very good light warm light in quantity, (large room takes 15) and once you have swallowed the investment, you will never need to replace them - ever :-) Philip

These were bought to replace some 7W CFL GU10\'s. As they were used in a kitchen, the CFL warm-up time was annoying. These LED\'s are at full brightness instantly, and do provide a proper 35W equivalent light output. Excellent value from BLT - I\'ve seen lower power ones at over £20 from other suppliers.

I have one of these in my bathroom in a standard GU10 fitting. They have an excellent diffuser very different from earlier LED bulbs. The bulb is actually rated 2.3w. If it were really 3w I think that would be the tipping point (compared with all other low energy GU10 bulbs). If you have a small bathroom, then two of the these would give adequate though subdued light (assuming a white bathroom), and a mirror light to finish. Compares well with the alternate lower energy 28w Halogen (replacing a 35w), and a similar light quality.
