Shatterproof lamps provide users with protection at the time of changing lamps when a mishandling accident can result in thousands of glass and mercury particles being spread over a wide area causing potential contamination. They will not degrade and will still contain glass on impact at the end of their life.
Applications for shatterproof lamps are the same as for their non-shatterproof counterparts, but are of particular benefit in the following; Food Processing Plants (where contamination is to be avoided at all costs), Warehousing, Storage, Public Amenities such as Swimming Pools, Leisure Centres and Supermarkets, Packaging Industry, Pharmaceutical Plants, Stage Lighting, Monuments, Rail and Bus Stations, Street and Floodlighting and in Public areas where Vandalism may Occur.
