Dimmable; No.
These B.A.G Electronics Ignitors are part of the Lighting Control Gear for use with Sodium and Metal Halide lamps. Ignitors provide the Intial Arc to Fire up the Lamp and are part of a discharge lamps' Operating Gear. If power is interrupted, even briefly, the lamp's arc will extinguish, and the high pressure that exists in the hot arc tube will prevent restriking the arc; with a normal ignitor a cool-down period of 5-10 minutes will be required before the lamp can be re-started, but with B.A.G Electronics Ignitors the arc can be immediately re-established.
Many lighting applications require lamps which are immediately ready for operation upon an interruption of the mains supply. This presents an absolute precondition, for example, in Filming for Movies and Television, Stadium Lighting, at Airports, in Manufacturing Plants, Flood Lighting, Street Lighting, Tunnel Illumination, Industrial and Public Buildings and in fields of Military or Civil Security. These B.A.G Electronics Ignitors generate significantly higher ignition voltages and thus guarantee an instant restart.
For Sodium Lamps it is important to use the Correct Control Gear to Lamp or you may damage your control gear and/or kill the lamp. A Triangle with an 'E' inside on your lamp indicates the need for External Control Gear.
