Advantage 1. Excellent new product as the glass envelope saves all the problems of handling the halogen bulb by hand. Advantge 2. Can be dimmed with conventional dimmer unlike most energy saving bulbs. Disadvantage. Little power saving. 42W for the eqivalent light output of a 60W incandesent bulb.

I don\'t know if I\'ve been unlucky but I bought 8 of these lamps (6 to use and 2 spare) and one lamp blew after just a few hours and the replacement blew after a couple of days. I have to say though they were replaced without quibble within a few days.
