We have recently replaced a couple of standard 80W blue bulbs as they blow to softly illuminate the entrance to a garden courtyard and whilst these new LED lights cost nearly five times the price of the filament version they use less than a tenth of the electricity and should pay for themselves with a year as well as lasting probably five times as long as the normal bulbs. The illumination is a lovely soft deep blue hue and unlike the filament lamps is the colour is provided by the LEDs not the film on the filament bulbs the latter which peels in the sometimes harsh outdoor environment we operate them.Sll in all this looks to be a very good bulb that we\'ve been operating the first one for several months now. Hopefully will become cheaper and even more worthwhile soon
