I think these bulbs are better than the Energy Saving Golfballs but not as good as the original tungsten filament. I have a light that takes two of these types of bulb and as it was supplied originally with tungsten bulbs, I used these for a while until I realised I could save energy by replacing them with Energy Saving types. The light out from these initially is quite low and takes 10 minutes or so to get to optimum light output which is why I moved to these Halogen bulbs. They are instantly at their output but I feel the light output is not as good as either of the other two. It is more like the output from a 30 watt bulb. Also, would have preferred them with an opal finish rather than clear glass which makes the light quite harsh with strong shadows.
