I have this bulb in a windowless room which serves as an office and the difference it makes is unbelievable. It gives out such a clean natural light and my room is no longer glum and depressing.

As with many spiral energy-saving lamps, this is a slightly different shape to other brands. Which is a shame, as I would like to be able to buy regularly and not have a mix of designs of lamps in a multi-socket fitting.

I get frustrated by the claims made for the longevity of CFL bulbs. I replaced almost all the lights in my house with CFLs three years ago thinking I would hardly have to change a light bulb again but they started failing after a few months and now I seem to have to replace one every couple of weeks. These particular bulbs are a case in point. I was very pleased with them when I received them. They are incredibly small yet produce a bright white light and reach full strength almost as soon as they are turned on. If I would have written a review when I first received them I would have given them 5 stars. However, I ordered two of them in August 2011 and now two months later one of them has stopped working. I reckon they have had only 300 hours of use at most. Is it just bad luck on my part? My experience with other CFLs would lead me to think not.

We have these energy saving bulbs in the outside lights and find them very bright, Also they are small enough to fit inside the carridge lights
