These bulbs were bought to replace conventional halagen bulbs. They fitted without any problems. The light they produce is very much like the halogen. I am not sure that you would know that they were LED. The colour is pretty much the same and they are single point - not several discrete light sources as most other high power LEDs seem to be. The 40w equivalent rating is accurate.
