Germicidal Compact Fluorescent Lamps
The Germicidal Compact Fluorescent Lamp is a specialist light source that emits UV-C radiation for the disinfection, sterilization and killing of micro-organisms and bacteria in water, air, surface and food processing applications. Germicidal CFLs are a tubular 2 or 4 pin lamp with a 2G11, 2G7 or G23 cap/base type. Please note that this is not a retrofit lamp type and each lamp will only fit in an appropriate lamp holder.
Rated at between 5W and 55 Watts these lamp are an energy efficient lighting solution that saves 80% in energy usage compared to an incandescent light source and lasts up to 10,000 hours.
The Germicidal light source is a proven technology for the destruction of air-borne bacteria, viruses and mould spores. Found in scientific, industrial and commercial environments this lamp is utilised for a host of applications. In hospitals these UV fixtures are used in areas where the risk of infection is very high and in laboratories the Germicidal CFL is used for the sterilization of equipment. Other uses include pond cleansing and water purification, food processing and storage.
