Are All GU10 LED Bulbs The Same Size?

When it comes to GU10 LED Bulbs they come in various shapes and sizes. The traditional GU10 is is 53mm in height and 50mm in diameter. In most cases LED versions will replicate this size however our full range also includes "long barrel" versions which are 75mm long instead of the traditional 53mm. The final variation on on size comes in the form of a smaller diameter 35mm version.

Are all GU10 LED Bulbs Dimmable?

GU10 LED Bulbs are available in both dimmable and non-dimmable options. If you are create a new installation with dimmable bulbs it is important to keep in mind that a LED compatible dimmer is required. From our experience we have found the Varilight V-Pro led dimmers are the best for compatibility.

Can I Replace GU10 Halogen Bulbs With GU10 LED Bulbs?

Yes as GU10 bulbs run on mains voltage it is a straight swap and switching to led bulbs gives you the option of a different look and feel in your home from warm white to daylight. Our LED light bulbs are available in Warm White (Yellow light to replicate halogen light bulbs), Cool White (crisp white light that is ideal for use in modern kitchens/bathrooms) or Daylight (a bluey white light that replicates natural daylight).

How Long Will GU10 LED Bulbs Last?

Each brand of GU10 LED Bulbs has a different estimated lamp life. On average GU10 LED Bulbs last anywhere from 15000-30000 hours which compared to halogen is a significant increase. As LED bulbs produce very little heat they waste much less energy and also light up instantly. If an LED had an average lamp life of 15,000 hours and electricity was charged at 12p/kwh the saving would be around £82.
